Porsche And Mercedes Museums

Post by broady_6 »

This will be light on the words, and pic heavy. As requested here in my build thread https://www.vwtype3and4club.org.uk/foru ... 700#p72932

While I had been to the Porsche shed before a friend hadnt. And we had planned in 2019 to go in 2020. Then obviously we didnt, and it took until October this year to make it happen. By which time he had a cayman s to test on the autobahns.

We set sail on wednesday night from Hull to Rotterdam, and then spent thursday driving down to Stuttgart.

So the main event the following day, we started with Porsche, just 5 minutes on the tram. Which also qualified us for half price entry. So 12 euro became 6. And then we arrived before 10am, this was another half price offer. So 3 euros later I had an entry ticket.

We then decided after day in the car, a walk across town to the Merc collection was in order.

The discounts were not as generous with Mercedes, but still worth the visit.

Thanks for the photo holiday

It's a while since I visited the Porsche Factory. Let's just say I was in the engine building area and i noticed that the engines being assembled were not air cooled, nor were they 4/8 pot.

I asked what they were for & the guide just smiled at me. This was just before the 996/Boxster were launched

The only graffiti I saw in Germany was at the nurburgring.
People seem to be better behaved.
Imagine putting cigarette machines in the street in the uk!
Kids here would be on 40 a day!
Yes I had hoped to do your trip, its still on my list...
