Column mounted wiper switch
Re: Column mounted wiper switch
Mine still park. When I turn the switch to off, they finish their sweep and return to the bottom of the screen. I believe the park function is in the wiper unit. Rather than the switch.

Try mecatechnic, much more budget friendly than heritage, shipping is usually around €7,
If the total shipped is less than €135 there’s no vat so price is reduced by 20%. And their shipping is usually quicker than heritage anyway.
I’ve even dug out the link for you

Sounds right Mr Broady, thats what i have just discovered, park function is part of the motor and not the switch.
I completely forgot about Mecatechnic even tho i have used them before. Top tip guys, much appreciated.

I think you will find the Wiper Motor takes care of the Parking.
Re: Column mounted wiper switch
Quick update. Due for delivery Monday. Courier does not know where it is, and megatechnic dont care either. Usual non existent customer care service.
Re: Column mounted wiper switch
I complained to both the seller as well as the courier. I may as well be talking to my goldfish. Courier wants to arrange his customer care team to " investigate" it tomorrow at 10 o clock. Whats to investigate. Where is my part now, and when am i getting it. Investigation over. I have been asking this since Monday, and still nothing. Patience ran out today and i issued a dispute with paypal. And was granted an immediate refund as neither seller or courier made any decent attempt to arrive at a resolution.

So back to rotary switch wiper ha ha

Re: Column mounted wiper switch
Well thats the main thing. Its bad enough not receiving it, but having paid for it as well as not getting it would be hard to swallow. Fair dues to paypal they acted very promptly for a change. Typical that the item is sitting in the TNT warehouse in Tallaght, Dublin since June 6th, and i live 45 mins from Tallaght and its been there for a week. The lies that have been e mailed to me over this would make you cringe. Lying must be well up on a cv for customer care for these jobs.
Re: Column mounted wiper switch
Amazingly got the item delivered after it had a 6 hour return journey down the country. Its a classic parts line and i would not recommend it to any body. Its assembly is crap, its finish is crap, and its action is crap. In short its a piece of foreign shit. Hang on to your vw stuff and repair it.
Re: Column mounted wiper switch
My sentiments entirely Mr Broady
Re: Column mounted wiper switch
As i had the switch, i decided to try it out before I recommenced paying for it.
Good job i did.
The pins are way smaller than the original wiper switch, so much that when the plug was pushed on , it fell off. Even when i held on the plug, I could only get the low speed going, and no high speed. So thats no use to me. I temporarily wired in the wiper with a rocker switch, but have now got no park on the wipers at all. So a top spec switch at top dollars seems to be the only option at a future date.

Re: Column mounted wiper switch
My own existing switch was a 4 wire unit, and this new unit is a 5 wire. Does anyone know the wiring procedure for the 5 wire. Thanks
