Gasket Set

Post by Type1234 » 17th November 2023 - 5:50pm

I am looking for a pic of a type 3 gasket set that also has the description of each individual gasket. I know I've seen this before but cannot now find a copy.

Hi, It's the engine gasket kit and it has all the gaskets numbered then the descriptions for each number listed below. It may have been someone from the Type 3&4 club or the Samba who created it. It's very handy when you don't require all the gaskets in the kit and where there are similar gaskets e.g. oil pump Etc.

Yes I understand that, I know what all the gaskets are for. If you let me know which ones you are struggling with, I can indentify them for you. :D

For the Oil Pump, You'll have 2 different sizes of stud holes for both the base & cover- it's fairly self explanatory- whatever size fits your studs
Oil cooler- Measure your oil ports on both Cooler & Crankcase

One part you won't find in a set is the oil filler gasket- You have to make your own

For manifold gaskets to Head, I personally prefer the Twinport fibre gaskets available seperately

I found the oil filler tube gasket in my box of gaskets, it looks like it came with a set. I can get some made if we need a supply though?

Try offering it up to an oil filler pipe!- size of the hole doesn't line up
It's not rocket science to make as & when needed & most people would have some gasket paper knocking around

I guess it depends what brand of kit you buy, this is an aceptable fit. From the Elring kit.
