Late Type 3 Fresh Air Box

Post by s.unsworth » 9th October 2020 - 9:22am

Please can anyone let me see a photo of exactly how the Fresh Air Box / Bulkhead should look when Original ?

Dropped our 1972 off at IRVs VW Restorations, Barrow In Furness yesterday to get that repaired. I was hoping to get Paul ( IRV ) a Photo he could work to.

He’s got a nice Grey with Red Interior in there at the moment. Said the owner was from Stafford, I think. Is that one of our Club Members ?

Cheers,

Steve

Thank you. That’s great but all I was after was Photos of how it should look under the Bonnet when correct and as original from the factory.

Ah ok, that panel doesnt go under the bonet. That fits under the dash. Under the bonnet is just a bubble. My car is doesnt look facoty any more as ive made a removable panel so that I can clean out the rubbish.

Heres a few underbonet photos I found from about 10 years ago. Is it a bit more of what youre looking for?

Collected the Type 3 from IRVs VW Restorations 22nd October with all the Fresh Air Box rebuilt and all the Under Bonnet area re painted. Went away to the Cairngorms for a week only 2 Days later. Not had the chance, or the weather, to take any photos yet.

I would like to put Photos on here of how my Fresh Air Box / Under Bonnet area look after Irvs VW Restorations Refurbished it. But haven’t got a clue how to do that.

Send them to someone else who knows how to do it ?

Regards,

Steve U

Sorry. That’s way beyond my IT skills.

Best I could do is email them to someone who knows how to do it.

I did email them to Dave Hall but don’t have an email address for anyone else, apart from Jane Terry / Volksfarmers.

No skills required, its a simple step.by step, much like any step by step instructions in day to day life. Even better though. If you were to click on my username for example. You will see an option to send me an email. And if you do that for most of the users. You will see, you have access to all their email addresses too. :D

Ah, that's why you sent them to me. I've only just seen you were trying to get them on the Forum. I've got a huge backlog of posts to catch up on. Dave.
