Hi Danny, spotted the post on fb, don't frequent the forum much, but just to say I'm up for bringing along the Squareback to Stanford Hall.

Might be too late on this one, but thought I would add to the electronic ignition debate. My 912 had pertronix for a few years when I first owned it, had 3 failures, which were quite unpleasant (one massive backfire so big that it blew my rear seats forward!). I eventually fitted a 123 Ignition dizz...

Sorry to say I won’t be able to bring the car. Things still aren’t ready, which is a real shame.

Have you got & read the D-Jetronic workshop manual ? In there it explains the function of each component. Usual suspects on FI are wrong fuel pressure, faulty temperature sensors, bad electrical connections. The fact it starts when cold, then won't idle when warm would have me looking at electrical...
