Steering boss question

Post by kps70 » 18th May 2011 - 6:42pm

Hi - quick one this. Is the steering wheel boss on a 411/412 the same as for a beetle? I had an identical wheel on my 1303, but is the boss the same?

Beetle and type 4 steerig wheels are intercahngeable and they have the same splines. I have a steering wheel in my '72 411 that came out of a beetle that was made the same year.

That is good news. Something from a Beetle that fits a type 4!
Thank you.
I hope the weather in Finland is good for you too at the moment.
I was in Finland in 1998 in my type 2 camper. We drove through to Russia from Finland. I must find the pictures.

Yep fully interchangable just one thing to note the indicater stalks on a 411 have a higher rake on them compared to a bug so if you swap the standard wolfsburg wheel out for say a D-ring wheel as I did you will need to carefully bend the stalks back towards the dash so the wheel can turn.
