What jobs have you doen on your Type 4 recently?
What jobs have you doen on your Type 4 recently?
Today I fitted the Type 4 emblem supplied by Bernie
and durung the half term, that was last week for all those without kids and who aren't teachers , I changed the dash to a nice one without the discoloured wood effect or cracks in the padding.
I need to have a look at my other speedo clock and see if the silver effect is in better condition and then see if it is possible to swap this over as the current one is worn and now looks worse against the clean dash.
And if anyone is interested I have a spare wood effect insert going cheap in good condition...

Did you buy just the one from Bernie? Ive got one coming but havnt decided where im going to place it yet.
Im currently refurbing my headlights and engine then onto cleaning up the floor pan as it has surfice rust from the leaking air box, does anyone have any tips on how to get the rubber gattor that goes between the fan and the body work back I struggled like fuck for over 2hours last weekend to no avail im giving it another go this weekend along with installing my new tin wear to body work seal.
Cheers Mart

I bought just the one and debated over where to fit it as well before settling on here. I figured that it was a place that VW could have placed just such a badge, besides I like it there and its too late now as I've drilled the holes!
As for the rubber I haven't looked into mine there so can't help.
However as for headlights I fitted a pair of H4 headlight units where the dipped beam ones used to be and wired them straight from the battery via a couple of relays. This makes a lot of difference, lights are very bright!

It looks fine there - you couldn't put it above the line as it's not flat. Looks like Bernie has done a good job.

Looks good Shawn

Looking class mate - the most I've managed to do is burst a tyre...but it does mean that I have sourced a set of 4 to put on next weekend. That'll be good and might inspire me to do more.

Hey Shawn,
I got my Type 4 emblem from Bernie today and have to say how bloody cool are they , the quality is outstanding I really wasnt sure quite how good they would be. Im chuffed to bits to say the least. Still cant decide where to place it yet I have a few ideas. I think a couple of beers might help me decide tonight after work!
