Pop outs fitting?
Pop outs fitting?
Has anyone got these fitted, and how do you attach the "hinge" end? I haven't taken anything apart as yet. Am I right to assume they latch in somehow via the bit pointed to by the red arrow?
Also does anyone know if the rubbers can still be bought and where from if you can? I was thinking I could use the 19mm blade seal maybe? Like this http://www.sealsdirect.co.uk/bbCMS/shop ... rtmentId=4
Many thanks

Re: Pop outs fitting?
No idea Bee but I would love pop outs in mine as well.
The parts book I have doesn't show any detail on fitting them either, sorry.
Do you know anyone with a Type 3 with popouts as I would have thought those might be similar in fitting, although knowing VW the Type 4 is probably unique fitments here as well

You will find the holes pre-formed for the hinges and the catches if you strip off the headlining. If you check out my 412 project pages - the one on "seatbelts" under "finishing off" - the sixth picture down shows the three holes for the catch. There will be a line of holes on the B-pillar for the hinges.

Thanks Judi,I'll go have a looksee. I've fitted pop outs in a bug before and managed to find the holes for the catches. It just totally confused me how to attach the hinge side as they aren't typical hinges
Re: Pop outs fitting?
I saw a pair on eBay recently but they were no good to me since I've foreshortened that window.

Re: Pop outs fitting?
I enquired about those windows but the dimensions they supplied me with did not match upto the window holes in my 412, well over an inch too small
