Could you really replace it for that?

The agreed value places usually have a thorough condition form to fill in; some also ask for it to be inspected by a professional. Practical Classics used to print a list of typical values based on condition. At the moment it's anyone's guess what things will fetch. Look at the near completed (?) '70 Fastback with many things done and new paint that had to be dropped to £1,000 before someone bit.

Sorry about the slow reply...got caught up with other things again and forgot.

As the renewal is due in a couple of days it reminded to answer this question.

I'm currently through HIC (0844 888 4888) with a company called NIG.

This is on a fully comp policy including business travel as I found out all the training courses I had to attend last year counted as business travel and was therefore not covered under the usual social, domestic and pleasure policy, even though it states too and from a "single" place of work (the word single was the stumbler there).

It was an agreed £4000 valuation and included European cover.

It cost just over £200 all in for the year. It would have been cheaper on a classic policy but this limits the mileage and usage a tad too much for the cover I need.

Time to phone around for some competitive quotes for this years insurance.

Im with FJ too - theve been good. I have my beetle plus the variant with them on a multiple (two) car policy that costs £140 for the year for both - amazing eh. We are haggling over agreed values on the squareback now. NEVER TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT YOU PAID FOR THE CAR I have found out!!

I can also vouch for their recovery plan as well - got recovered from France when my bus broke last summer. Bus was then returned a couple of weeks later.
