411 bell housing - removable or fixed?
411 bell housing - removable or fixed?
Does anyone happen to know off the top of their head if the bell housing on the 411 gearbox is removable or non-removable?
I know i could go look at mine, but its in the garage which is temporarily being used as an emergency junk storage facility till next week, so its hard to get to.
I figured someone here will know.

Does anyone know if any boxes with a removable bell housing (like maybe a late bay box?) can be made to fit?
I know the late bay got almost thesame engine, so maybe the boxes are alike?
Is there any combinations of mix-and-match (like different nosecones or something) that will achieve a removable bell housing in a 411?

IIRC the nose cone is removeable, but as to installing another tranny, someone in the us managed to install a beetle box... I dont know how, but it is possible. I PM'd him a while back for pics and such but got no response. When my type 4 box blows up I plan on fitting another gearbox, and may try the beetle route.
