Clock removal from a 412

Post by 3nero » 7th April 2012 - 5:10pm

I want to sort out my faded wood finish on my 412 dash, but i don't want to remove the whole dash.
How do i get the clocks out. I can't get a good look up behind them to see how they are held in.

On each clock there should be 2 brackets held on by a screw with a wide ferrel/ridged bit that you can undo with you fingers or a small allen key.

On the clock they are around the 11 o'clock and 5 o'clock. On the speedo about the 9 and 3 o'clock positions.

The actual wood effect bit is held in by a series of nuts on several studs, bit of a faff to do but well worth the effort.

Cheers...I won't have to remove the wood trim piece...i can redo it in place.
but it would be a whole lot easier without the clocks in the way
