Eberspacher glowplug

Post by rickycox » 26th November 2010 - 6:23pm

Anyone know if the glowplugs are available for my heater, BA4 which is in my 412...

It fires up ok but seems a bit fumey with a little white smoke so I'm guessing the fuels not being burnt properly.....

Any ideas ?

I have gone throu the troubleshoot guide etc..

I had a look for these ages ago and couldn't find them new.

But if yours is burning fuel then it must be working, I think these are like a spark plug once they sta so it suggest to me that maybe it is getting too much fuel. I know the pumps are adjustable so maybe thats worth a try?

The white smoke can be a worry ... where from exactly?

Have you checked for fuel leaks?

Good point, I assumed that the smoke was from the exhaust. Anywhere else is a problem.

To be honest it's only a very small amount and I thought it could be because it's not running efficiently ?

Does anyone have experience of adjusting the pump and I've read there is a fuel filter / gauze, any idea where that is ?

The guaze filter is in the actual eber, don't know how easy it is to get to for cleaning.

As for the pump adjustment, haven't done it but it sounds simple enough. I'll try and dig out the links I've used in the past for mine.

And I think my pump needs adjusting as mine has let out some big back fires today!!

Try this link: http://manuals.type4.org/ba4/ for an on-line manual for the Eber.

There is a good section in the club Technical Handbook on overhauling the petrol heaters. I've emailed it to you.
