I assume that was either Vanfest or the Cornish Jamboree, as they are the only 2 show n shines Kubrick has been in. Either that or you have a Vw skeleton key
In case you were wondering heres how I made it![]()
This is what it looked like
Pic of the clock (left) and tacho (right) both partly disassembled .... "disassemble... not Johnny 5.... Johnny 5 is alive!!!!!!!!"
Removed clock mechanism, then mounted the gubbins from the tacho onto the back of the clock case
Scraped, sanded and polished numbers off the back of origianl clockface.
Bad pic but what I did next was to lay clockface onto tacho face (see next pic) and use it as a guide for me to mask all the line details and spray it white.
Half unmasked.... (see the tacho face under the clear clockface)
.... ta daaaa!!! that was a fun job, not as fun as the one that follows tho :laughing9:
I used transfer numbers (closest font to the speedo as I could get) for the dial, was a nightmare positiong them :cussing:
The reworked clock face back where it belongs with a new clear front..
I also took the detail off the button assembly and sprayed it black, used transfers for the new symbols
And amazingly the button assembly fits beautifully within the inner clock bezel, excuse the fat fingers
All the rest is history
