Last year's trials were impressive too - the video I saw had a lot of competitors, mostly failing the section, but the Notch succeeded.

any idea what motor he is running ?

I have been up there when I was trialling a 1303 a few years ago,I can assure you it's very slippery.

Its a tweeked Type 4, it did have carbs, but the plan was to convert to aftermarket FI the last time a spoke to him.
Its not just the engine though everything on the car is set up for trials, and all done so well its not obvious.
The driver is pretty handy as well!
