Apart from parking in a nice warm garage does anyone have any ideas on how to prevent the doors freezing shut on our cars during these cold snaps we keep having ?
I don't know about anyone else but after you've spent ages thawing the door lock enough to turn the key it's a tad frustrating to then find the door won't open You then spend ages thawing the other lock to find that door opens
Just on my out side to see if I can get into the 412...

I find that a liberal squirt of WD40 usually does the trick. It works better if you squire some into the lock barrel before the freeze.

Autoglym sell a product to " clean and protect " rubber window seals. I've used it on my window rubbers and door seals and I'm assuming it's silicon based because it stops my doors freezing shut....
WD40 in the locks is a good trick also....

Re: Any suggestions on how to prevent doors freezing shut?
Our UK weather oftens allows water into the rubber seals, then when it freezes, it'll often remove a layer of the surface of the rubber seal, which is really bad news.
I don't usually recommend silicone products as their long-term effect on rubber isn't too obvious. Vaseline wouldn't be too good a choice as it does attack rubber. I'd recommend a good wak polish layer on the door where the rubber seal touches. It'll do the job and is often used as a coating to preserve rubber items before they are fitted.
