Breakdown spares?

What do you carry? Points, condensor, belt, oil? That was the best I could come up with off the top of my head.

I'm rather famed for taking it to extremes, but have always believed theres no point having a toolkit,if you dont have it with you when you break down!
So in addition to the full toolkit,I always carry Cables, fuel filters, fuelpump, points, condenser,ht leads, fuses, bulbs, jumpstarter powerpack & assorted other stuff i've probably forgotten i've even got!

I have a 3/8 drive socket set. 7mm to 22mm with extensions breaker bar deep reach sockets. Pair of 10mm 13mm 17mm spanners. Couple of flat and Phillips screw drivers, Side cutters and long nose pliers.

Think that’s about all of it

... WD40 and duct tape? Isn't that someone's signature here (or maybe type3.org)? "If you can't mend it with duct tape, you haven't used enough!" And again, "If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape; if it doesn't move and should, use WD40."

And currently I am including a 22mm socket, a cross head screwdriver and a 5p peice

Jane, the prob I rang you about...it was teh ally plate under the seat. It had popped clean through. A 5p was exactly the right size and has solved the problem. Will check on it in a week to see how it's wearing, but the general consensus is that a 5p is stronger than the ally to start with. Time will tell :D

hi claire you must get that problem sorted. Bryan say there is a poxy piddly circlip and a nut that holds that shaft in place. It has happened because somone has removed the shaft and not fitted the circlip properly back in place. You need the paitiance of a saint to get it put back in the recess properly so it will probably happen again once it has worn through the 5p piece.

Probably should, but I have bigger fish to fry. It seems the bad running is due to running on 2 cylinders for some reason that is bound to be expensive.......process of elimnation starts with a leakdown test with Pete @funkenblitz.

If that means you can hear the air wheezing from the engine that would be a nice simple solution. It's looking like a loose head or has chucked a valve.
