1962 RHD Notchback Barnfind.

Post by Danny Lord » 8th June 2009 - 8:07pm

On my way back from Stanford hall this year I ran out of fuel down a country lane near Hinkley in the Midlands, thankfully a farmer pulled up in his Tractor and offered help, he towed me back to his farm, once he got me some fuel for mi Notch he said that there was a car similar to mine that his dad use to own in one of his Barn's,

so we went to investigate :)

sure enough we found, £500 later :D

You kept quiet about that Danny - not surprised, as I'd be after you with a shotgun by now for ripping me off.

Still, at least you only ran out of petrol - usually you break-down or worse!

Excuse me for not being more amazed or jealous, after all, it's only a Notch. Now if it had been a Variant.....

Wow. I love it when a plan comes together! I didn't know there were still any cars in barns left to find. Good work fella, you lucky lucky -------- ;)
What ya gonna do to it? It might just be the misty eyes of a type 3 geek blurring my vision, but it looks like it's in top condition. What's the milage and the rot situation, if that isn't too personal a question to ask

Are you kidding me? I call BS. You had me going for a bit there but the whole "running out of gas" thing sounds to staged mate.

Oh did I mention I hate you if this wild creation of a story is true

I don't think Jason knows what to believe! Does anyone?

The dust looks genuine, the number is OK for '62 in the UK, and it is RHD, so that all fits OK. Danny is renowned for breaking down - this is the first time he admits to running out of fuel....

He's on an extended European VW-show tour, so maybe he's sold it already. Maybe it's all a hoax and he doesn't dare come home to admit it!

Don't we all love a mystery?
Dave.
