it would be easy for a very drunk person be able to break in through the back door of a square?
this happened to my car last night :(

and im wondering if i was just very silly, in not locking the back door or if its really really easy to breaK into. :?

theres nothing broken, forced or stolen, I was really very lucky.

Cheers mi dear!!
It was parked outside the brewery complex, so luckily, apparently theres cctv all over the place, the police said they were watching the guy try to get into the car.
They arrested him, the police woman said he was very drunk and probably just trying to find somewhere to sleep.
I must say he prob chose the best car on the street, its got my sleeping bag on the back seat!

you couldn't find a much better place to sleep.

1 - sleeping bag on the back seat
2 - almost 6 ft of leg room with the seat down
3 - nice warm engine to keep him warm

he obviously knew his stuff

hopefully no damage done.

was it Rikki James

I've not heard of the lock being easily forced. If there's no sign of a blade being forced in to turn it, I think you must have left the tailgate unlocked. Sometimes the tumblers in old locks get stuck and don't pop out to stop the lock barrel rotating.

 dont think it was rikki james, unless he was on the lash in cheltenham that night!! 8)

thanks! I must say i did think i locked it, but id rather have left it unlocked rather than have someone be able to break in that easily!!

i was lucky- the only real downside is having my friends tease me about having a tramps car ;)

I think you were very lucky!

I restored a, rhd, ultra rare Devon interior, 1960, samba to stock, everything
was done, then I got a '58 and decided to sell it. The guy that bought it was
going to give it to his wife however she couldn’t get in to the bus driving thing,
so it stood in the street for 9 moths!! It gets worse.....
A tramp decided it would make a nice home for a while and consequently cut
a hole in the sun roof to get in and out of his new pad!
Anyway to cut a long story short, the bus was totally trashed within about
9 month of me selling it to this idiot! The wood of the interior was delaminated,
the cushions were slashed, pissed on and rotten! most of the glass was either
cracked, scratched or just missing! I sold the bus to Mr. Dick Head for 9k,
9 month later he sold it for 2.5k, trashed!

Moral of the story.... If you care about your VW's and decide to selling it, the
highest price on offer may not always be the best deal for you!
