Hopefully someone knows the answer to this one! I have tried, in vane so far, to get my eberspacher working. :( I have now got to the point that I know all the fans are working and the fuel pump is working and everything appears to be connected as it should. I have tested the spark/glow plug and see...

Thanks for the info. Shall have to take a trip to the motor factors in town later on as they are pretty good with lengths of pipe etc.

Might even be able to get hold of some new replacement dipped beam units for me as mine are seriously corroded.

Thanks for the part numbers there Editor, might not need them after all though. Although just replaced my voltage tester as broke the last one so shall check the battery and alternator output at the weekend. Whilst having a nose in the engine bay as one does I was wondering what all the air hoses di...

Went back to the tyre place yesterday and they rebalanced the wheels. First time made no difference at all so went back a third time and the boss had a look. Turns out that the offset of the alloys fitted is not like a modern wheel and would not fit the balancing machine properly so the inexperience...

just fitted the VW Heritage inertia reels to the back of our 412 at the weekend.

Pretty straightforward as the holes under the seat had plastic blanking screws in them and the ones on the pillar you could feel through the lining.

Just another couple of quick questions

Back again with another couple of quick questions, sorry guys :? Firstly, I think I need a couple of new front disc as the N/S one is deeply scored. Are the disc on the front of the 412 the same as fitted to T1's or other VW's likewise the pads will be done at the same time, so which pads? Secondly ...

Back to the tyre fitting garaage again...

The walls on the tyres of my 412 looked a bit cracked up so I thought I would fit some new rubber all round. I was also hoping it would cure the slight wheel wobble at the that 40ish speed that indicates the wheels need balancing. I paid out my cash after they did the job and drove home... The sligh...

412 servicing to cure lumpy tickover?

Hi all, does anyone know anywhere I can obtain, and a rough idea of cost, a servicing kit for my 412 fitted with a 1700i engine? I'm hoping that a good service will cure the slight lumpiness at tickover I am experiencing at the moment. Other than this the car runs well with lots of power, it is pure...

Where do I start checking my Eberspacher thingy...

I want/need to fire up the axillary heating in our new 412 but before I do I think it would be a good idea to get some advice on what to check to make sure it is safe to do so. Then assuming everything looks OK, do I need to clean anything in particular or prime it with fuel at all? Have read throug...
