In the end I cannibalised the 412 switch I had for the contacts that sit above the indicator switch and make contact with the base of the steering wheel as these were missing on the 411.

I've a slight problem with my horn, it doesn't work properly. It will work IF you push the steering wheel up a tad and then operate it but nothing when the wheel isn't forced up. Personally speaking I would be looking for completeness, make sure that it is all there as missing parts could proove to be hard to find. I would then start to check for corrosion in and around the suspension mounting points and the inner wings. The operation of the gearbox as these are hard to find...

I did a similar job on my 412 and that made a huge difference. Will get around to doing it on my 411 at some point

It does sound like your fuel line has sprung a leak, not good. How to access it, don't know but an easier option could be to run a replacement pipe under the car?
