Re: 411le stuck on high beam?
Hi Dave, thanks for your reply. Tend to agree with you. Will source a replacement. I did try and clean up the internals, but as you say, if its broken down there is probably no way to repair. David, (937carrera) your sort of right. The unit is a double relay.( correct if wrong.) One for the indicato...

Re: 411le stuck on high beam?
Hi, thanks for reply. I have checked and cleaned all fuses and mounts. Will remove one by one and check for current. Will do as you suggest and test voltage on terminal 56a and 56b. Just to be clear. You are referring to the Actual light switch gubbins in the dash behind the light pull switch. I'm n...

411le stuck on high beam?
As subject line.... After a month or so of chasing electrical faults I am only one problem away from being sorted. My lights are stuck on high beam. Checked contacts on stalk and all good. Thinking it may be the reply but wanted to ask if this has happened to anyone else and how you fixed it. Thanks...

So after swopping over spare set of trigger points, no difference. :( Went to local parts place and for the third time since Friday, swopped over new dizzy cap, rotor. Forgot to mention,...

Forgot to mention, I have a electronic ignition module. No points. Checked plugs, plug caps, plug leads put on a spar...

Re: One more thing to keep me off the road...
Thanks, will report back later. Regarding oil pressure, When I say just over 2 bar. I mean it hovers between 2 to 3 bar and raises to about between 4 to 5 bar when out and about on a run. I wont start worrying just yet. Unless you think this is connected. One thing at a time on the worry list :D Tha...

Re: One more thing to keep me off the road...
Hi David, that is correct. Will try your suggestion later and let you know. If I hold No. 2 lead to engine there is a very good spark. No plug cap. With plug cap and plug, very good spark. I also have a second set of trigger points so will swop these over as well. Just to rule out the one already in...

Re: One more thing to keep me off the road...
Hi, thanks for the reply. Iv done all the swopping about with leads cap plug and it makes no difference. No nipples missing. Think it maybe a dizzy trigger problem. But no sure how to check. All three wires to dizzy trigger are in good order. She just started to misfire on cylinder 2. Thanks again M...

One more thing to keep me off the road...
Hi all, 411Le Variant.1971. FI Right. All's been super sweet for about a week of being back on the road. Then on Thursday last week started misfiring. Narrowed it down to plug number two. So, took the this as a sign to change all relevant stuff and service. Plugs, plug caps, leads, rotor, dizzy cap ...

vw 411le variant blowing fuses
Hi all, Right, in the variant there's a fuse in the engine bay, right by the coil. Haynes say its the back up fuse for the lights. Rated at 8amps I think. White fuse. Mine keeps blowing. Has anyone got any idea what would make this happen? :? Checked for shorts etc but can't find anything obvious. I...

Re: My 411le nearly done....
David and Judi R, thanks for you replies. I sort of feel that the MOT guy was a bit 'covering' himself in case vosa walk in regarding his advisories. He's fair but not keen on older motors. Which is why I use him if that makes sense. I will have a look at the bearings and make a judgement. I feel th...

Fuel filler pipe 411 le variant 1971.
As subject line.
From petrol cap to tank.
Anyone got any ideas as to what I could use as a replacement. Another vehicle, make one up ?
Mine seems to be rotting away and could do with replacing. Safety first everyone.
Cheers, Jon

Easy Shawn. :D Just waiting for the agreed valuation to be confirmed. Then the MOT. Hopefully fly through. finger crossed. Then I'll up load more photos. Brake caliper rebuild
Hi all, it's been awhile since I was last on the forum. Have spent the last 14/16 months repairing/rebuilding and swearing at my 411LE. Some of you will know my car as 'Ebbie' who I got from Bryan and Jane at Volksfarmers maybe 3 years ago now. I have just had the calipers rebuilt by a company in Wo...
