Re: Any suggestions to what's causing a bad misfire?
Does it need someone else to work on the car? If youve got it running ok, new bellows and proper clips. As long as you didnt over heat it, it will be as good as before!

Re: Any suggestions to what's causing a bad misfire?
How on earth did it do that!? Did you forget to put the clips on? hopefully it hasnt over heat the engine, as it sounds like you had actually got to the route of the problem in your previous post.

You will probably find the fronts rub at full lock, and the rear will touch the wings over bumps, depending on how low you go.

Re: Solex 32 Carburettor Gaskets
I would assume a gasket either side, doesnt make any sense to fit oneside and not the other. But the information is missing from the IPC.
And as I say I prefer the "paper" one to the metal one. Other people may have different opinons

Re: Solex 32 Carburettor Gaskets
Sorry for the delay, ive been out of the country. Ive had a quick look in the IPC. But that page is missing, typlically. But its safe to assume you would need a gasket on any sealing face. I prefer the "paper" gasket because it can be used more than once, and had more tollerance for slightly warped ...

They are pretty much the same, unlikely to have the elextric fan on a UK car. But ive used those diagrams in the past with no issue. The only thing that might trip you up is dodgy previous repairs. People do all sorts and used incrroect wires ect.

There was change from early to late at these chassis numbers. There was also a change of motor from early to late. So it may be the case that it wont fit.

Re: '71 Fastback fuel gauge
Youll need to disconnect the battery, the lower the fuse box so that you can get your arm up to the gauge. It has two spring clips. from the front push the gauge into its pod, with the hand at the back squeeze the two spring clips in and then the gauge should withdraw through the front of the dash. ...

I think itll be more a case of a tiny piece of dirt blocking a jet, rather than set up/balanced correctly.

Re: Any suggestions to what's causing a bad misfire?
Sounds almost certainly like youve got a fueling issue. As soon as you open the throttle more air rushes in, but in your case more fuel doesnt, the mixture goes weak and you get a mistfire. Have you checked which exhaust branches are getting warm? This should help tell you which cylinder(s) are miss...
