I don't quite understand, if the trolley jack is inside the ratchet strap surely it would be trying to make the gap bigger?

Re: 1971 VW Type 3 Fastback

Been a little while since I've posted any thing too serious but im currently blasting the wheels. Once finsihed, one needs 30mins more and itll be ready for primer. That cheap little sand blaster was certainly worth the money! I would recommend getting one if you have a meaty enough compressor Befor...

it depends if you cant actually find one for sale. then its depends on how much you want it and how much the owner doesn't want it. I think they are to far between to really have price

Re: 1971 VW Type 3 Fastback

Yeah that all sounds exactly as mine is, and its as per the spec of the manual. think its 11 degrees no minutes. But Personally I think its a bit low. Marking wouldn't have helped me as its a new IRS which I bought and unfortunately it was already dismantled. So ive just to work on it till im. happy...

Re: 1971 VW Type 3 Fastback

I don't think it is stock. Mines very low even at that. I'll have to measure it compared to the stock spec. The reason I had mine so low to start with is I measure the angel according to accordingly Bentley, i got it spot on. But there was no chance I could get the spring plate up high enough to get...

Re: T3 Generator Light stays on

Glad youve fixed her! Guess it was the brushes then? Best thingto do when installing the pull is the stuff a rag down the tin to catch and shims and other bits you may drop. Also have a magnetic pen to hand to make life easy and save you some skin!

Re: 1971 VW Type 3 Fastback

Well i jiggled and jiggled the A arm. No joy so I took it back off the car. Put the bolt through with the washers and it appeared to stick far enough through. But I noticed one washer each side had some crap or corrosion on the face, so I blasted them clean. It made a difference, I could see it was ...

Its had a few good hits, its slid in that far nice and freely! The bolt is covered in graphite grease to help it move which worked. I just wish the bolt went in from the otherside. It would make life a lot easier. Yeah I have done but Ive been ill which slowed things down so Ive been very annoyed th...
