Re: type 3 exhaust, silencer vs top heat exchangers

i just went to take some pics and i think ive figured out where i was going wrong! the heater boxes have the remains of the old silencer necks still in there. they have been cut nice and square so they looked like they should be that way. all makes sense now. i guess i just have to do persuade them ...

type 3 exhaust, silencer vs top heat exchangers

Hi there, I seem to have a compatibility issue between my replacement silencer and the top heat ex-changers. The threaded bolt section of the silencer is much bigger than the captive nut section of the heat ex-changer and will clearly not fit. Neither the ex-changers or silencer were fitted to the c...

Re: 71 FI Fastback re-commission

I dropped the injectors at Tom Day injection (keynsham) for him to test. He’s gonna try and get the small seals for me. The bushes look ok so will prob go again.

I can think of worse hobbies to have! 👍

Re: 71 FI Fastback re-commission

Cheers for the replies fellas!
I’ll keep that in mind for the PRV. I might even see if the injector guys I’m planning on using can take a look at it.
I think I read a thread on here that mentioned that screen plate in the tank so I’ll do a bit more research before I order up the por15.

Hi there, im new to the forum and new to Type 3 ownership! I purchased my 1971 fastback a couple years ago but haven't made much of a start on it up until now due to other projects and lots of fishing! The car has been sat for quite some time and before i get stuck into the bodywork, i want to get t...
