Re: ive been busted....secrets out
It's never easy hiding things from the wife. I'm glad Goldies going to a good home, unfortunately I couldn't justify keeping another car with all the space issues at the moment. Still the bugs safe for now

Re: Type 4 exhaust stud length
All exhaust studs out bar 2. Had to weld most of the exhaust studs out. I've got 2 stubborn ones that are getting shorter with every sheared off welded on nut, POO. Yup studs I got were too short, but will do for type 1 motors. One of my studs is over sized just to add a little more joy to my life, ...

412 automatic firewall tinware
Is the tinware on the 412 auto different, in that it has holes to access gearbox bolts, line. I've got a baywindow one will this do if modified. Atlernatively pictures of the engine bay at the back so I can fabricate something up. Finnished welding and painting Frankensteins heatexchangers, nasty jo...

Re: engine out from 412ls
Once again cheers for the pics have been very helpful  Any chance of a pic of your engine as it sits with all the tin and hoses in the engine bay. It's murder buying a car with a missing engine, I spend so much time head scratching wondering if I've got the right bits and where they go. So...

Type 4 exhaust stud length
High folks, Does anyone know the length of the exhaust studs on the type 4 1.8. Id imagine they should all be the same on the 4's. Mine were all rotten and miss matched, had to weld a few out also. I picked up some M8 X 45 but have a feeling they should be nearer 56 long. Also where can you get thes...

Re: 412 squareback numbers
I thought there was a lot more, but knew they were a bit rare. Must be those stylish looks and handy engine that fits into campers thats killed most of em off. I wonder if they grow in popularity, ie start being worth big dosh, they'll all start crawling out of the woodwork. I thought there would be...

Automatic to manual conversion
I'm having problems getting a drive plate for the 412, so was wondering what was involved in converting into a manual stick shift. I know of two donar cars 411's so parts should be no problem. Is it big and hard, no pun intended to change over

Front of GM the 412
Here's a front picture of the 412. Spoke to stu412le and he recons that's the cars been floating around the RAF car club for years going between servicemen as they've been posted' it's been passed on. That would explain why the engine dissapeared 4 years ago. It'll probably be sitting in a box in so...

Hi Dave, It's been repainted at some point by a short person, judging by the overspray join line along the centre of the roof Most of the polishing took it past the overspray and back to original coat, still can't figure out how to post pics

New to type 4
Hi guys i'm new to the 412 scene. I've always had camper vans, so was intrigued when I saw stu412le selling his 412le. It's a thing that had never crosssed my mind, but for some reason I had to have a look. The more I looked the more I liked, so I bought it, with no engine. So if any of you guys hav...
